As a Consultant / Senior Consultant, you will be working as part of a team of around eight students to come up with solutions to complex problems faced by our clients. Throughout the process, our partners (consultancies such as EY, Oliver Wyman, and Deloitte) will be delivering workshops and training sessions to ensure you can perform at your best and grow along the way. The time commitment associated with being a consultant for is approximately six to eight hours per week (this may vary depending on the stage of a project) and includes attending branch meetings and project group meetings and any research tasks agreed with the Engagement Managers.

As an Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for the overall direction and completion of the project, as well as the management of the team. You will work closely with the Consulting Director and communicate regularly with the client. The time commitment for this role is approximately eight to ten hours per week.

180DC is also really enjoyable. You get to build a strong network with both our current and past consultants through professional and social events. We focus on having a strong sense of culture and belonging within the branch, with a strong focus on consultant experience. We organise a lot of really fun socials, with some previous ones including a party at the Roman Baths and pub crawls in Bath! We also create the opportunity for consultants to form their own networks, with events such as weekly 5-a-side matches, sports event screenings and informal house parties being organised by our members.

We also place a focus on ensuring strong career outcomes for our members, and as such seek to organise casing groups, interview prep groups and match up people within the branch who are applying to similar roles.

What Are We Looking For?

We encourage students from all backgrounds, years, and courses to apply, as diversity in skills allows us to tackle a broader range of problems a client may be facing. Successful applicants will usually be those who have strong academic records, analytical skills, are motivated team-players who show initiative and have a demonstrated passion for management consulting and the non-profit sector.
